A train company has axed all its services from Watford Junction this Sunday, blaming “staff shortages”.
London Midland this afternoon announced it would not be running any services from any of its stations on Sunday September 6.
Services out of Kings Langley, Bushey and between Watford and St Albans will all be affected.
A statement from the company read: “For the majority of London Midland staff, working on Sundays is voluntary.
“This weekend a large number of onboard staff have failed to volunteer, resulting in a shortfall in staff and the cancellation of services.”
The announcement comes after conductors from London Midland staged a series of strikes over Sunday working hours earlier this year.
Director of operations and safety, Andy Thomas, said: “We apologise for the disruption to our services this Sunday and we are doing everything we can to provide alternative arrangements for passengers.
“All our services will be running again from Monday, September 7.”
