WATFORD: A gang of up to five people launched an unprovoked attack on a man in the town centre in the early hours of Sunday.
The victim in his early 20s, was struck on the head with an object, knocking him to the ground where he was kicked by all five assailants at the entrance to the subway near Area nightclub in The Parade.
Police are viewing CCTV footage, but are appealing for witnesses to the attack between 2.30am and 3am to come forward.
The victim from London suffered cuts and bruises and made his way to Watford police station that morning to report the incident.
PC Lauren Shipman, investigating, said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident, but which has undoubtedly shaken the victim.”
