A promising kickboxer from Abbots Langley died from a single blow to the head during his first tournament.
Daniel Edmonds, 26, was competing in his first full contact match when he was hit in the head by his rival competitor on Sunday evening.
The firefighter was taken from a nightclub in Hemel, where the fight was held, to Watford General Hospital.
He was later transferred to the National Neurological and Neurosurgical Hospital in Central London, but died on Tuesday afternoon.
