Shamed former Hornets star Marlon King will appeal against the 18 month jail sentence imposed after he punched a young woman in the face.
King, 29, who scored a series of vital goals during his time at Vicarage Road, was jailed last week after he was found guilty of breaking the nose of a woman who had spurned his advances in a Soho nightclub.
But King’s agent, Tony Finnegan, told the BBC’s Radio 5 Live he was ‘very disappointed’ with the decision and that an appeal would be lodged, probably on Monday morning.
He told the station: "Once the appeal process goes through this lad could be out in say two or three weeks, or four weeks.
"He's very, very disappointed - because clearly, as he said in his evidence, it's mistaken identity."
King, who has been sacked by his new club Wigan, still owns a house in Waltham Cross.
