A Hertfordshire police officer has praised the villages of Bovingdon, Chipperfield and Kings Langley for their Halloween celebrations over the weekend.

At a Kings Langley parish council meeting yesterday evening, PC Nicholas Pringle described how pleased he and fellow officer PC Amanda Lee were to see “controlled” trick or treating.

He said: “It was absolutely wonderful to see all the children on Saturday dressed up and accompanied by their parents as they went around the villages.

“There were absolutely no incidents of misbehaviour or anti-social behaviour reported to us in the areas of Bovingdon and Chipperfield.

“Unfortunately, in Kings Langley, there were two instances of egg throwing on Blackwell Road and it does seem to be the same names cropping up time and time again.

“The youths involved have since been visited at home with their parents and have learnt of our disappointment.”
