Year 6 pupils from Laurance Haines Primary School played at being reporters for the day this week at ‘The Wrap’ at Watford Football Club.

About 30 children from the nearby Vicarage Road school took notes during a talk from Kier safety managers at the multi-million pound housing development which wraps around part of the stadium.

The children were given a guided tour of the site and saw the new players lounge before the budding journalists returned to school to write mock newspaper articles about the importance of safety on the building site.

Origin Housing also provided each child with a disposable camera to take photos to go with their articles.

The Watford Observer’s deputy group editor Martin Buhagiar will judge the best article and best picture and announce the winner next week.
