Richard Harrington, prospective Conservative MP for Watford will be selling poppies for the British Royal Legion ahead of Remembrance Day Sunday.
This is part of what he calls a “raft of campaigns” to honour and show thanks for British forces serving in Afghanistan.
This week has also seen a campaign for people to send Thank You cards to serving troops.
Mr Harrington said: “I am fully supporting the wonderful work of the British Legion and their tireless campaign to honour British forces. I hope that many people will come and buy their poppies to show their support for this campaign.
“Later this month I will also be starting a Treats for Troops campaign which will be sending shoe boxes filled with treats to send to those in Afghanistan in the lead up to Christmas.”
