A blocked ladies toilet in the Kings Langley’s parish hall in Charter Court has caused a further stink for parish councillors.
At a meeting on Tuesday evening, parish clerk Paul Dunham informed councillors that they may have to dip into their budget in order to have the toilets unblocked.
He said: “After investigation, I have found out that the toilet system isn’t an old Victorian one as we originally thought.
“I have also been notified that the blockage is coming from our end, so we are going to have to get this fixed.”
Councillor Howard Button said: “I’ve got a power hose - perhaps we could use that to clear the blockage and save ourselves some money.”
Councillor Gerry Angionli said: “I don’t mind giving you a hand to clear the blockage, but will only be able to help after the twinning trip to France.”
The issue of the blocked ladies toilet arose at last month’s parish council meeting, after it was revealed that although women tend to hire the hall more often than men, they have been forced to share the gents.
Councillors agreed at the meeting that they would try to save some of their budget by cleaning the blockage with Councillor Button’s power hose and if that did not work, calling in the services of a professional.
