Villagers have turned to the Kings Langley parish councillors to express their dismay at Royal Mail’s decision to cut back posting times.
In a meeting of the parish council on Tuesday, councillors were notified that posting times in Kings Langley would be significantly reduced.
In a letter to the council, resident Christopher Carnaghan expressed his dismay that from November 1, the latest posting time would be 5.30pm on weekdays and 11.30am on Saturdays – 75 minutes and 60 minutes earlier than before, respectively.
He said: “Kings Langley residents and perhaps especially Kings Langley businesses will not be happy with this much less convenient service.”
Councillor Alan Anderson said: “That does seem a bit early to have to have posted your letters on a Saturday.”
Councillor Steve Cox said: “I think we need to apply and find out a bit more information about this from Royal Mail.”
It was decided that the parish clerk would contact Royal Mail.
