More than £5,000 of damage was caused to the roof of HMP The Mount by a serving prisoner it has been alleged.
John Banks, 35, is accused of destroying roofs, windows and aerials on the roof of the Bovingdon prison on June 22, last year.
Banks, who is currently in a bail hostel in Felmores, Basildon will be produced at St Albans Crown Court Monday to enter pleas to allegations of criminal damage.
