Thefts from cars parked at the luxurious Shendish Manor account for three quarters of all vehicle crime reported in Kings Langley.

During October there were three incidents of theft or damage to cars parked at the lavish hotel and golf club, a drop from six out of nine incidents reported the month prior.

PC Nik Pringle told a Kings Langley parish council meeting on Tuesday that the police were working in conjunction with the new owners to crack down on the thefts.

He said: “For the second month running we have had further car related incidents, although they have significantly decreased.

“We have not caught anyone yet, but we have put in place an operation to catch these offenders and are working with the new owners of Shendish Manor.”
