The teenager who was knocked over in a road accident on Friday afternoon has lost her battle for life.
The 15-year-old pupil of Parmiter's School had her life support machine turned off in Charing Cross Hospital where doctors had struggled in vain to save her.
The Bricket Wood girl was hit by a Peugeot 205 heading out of Watford on the A405 North Orbital Road just north of the junction with Chequers Lane at 3.45pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses to establish what happened but say the victim was either using a pedestrian crossing or was very close to one.
