Nine-year-old Brittney-Anne Wiggan’s “inspiring” poster entry has been chosen to advertise this year’s South Oxhey Christmas Fun Day.
Watford Rural Parish Council asked school children from across the area to each design a poster advertising the annual event, to be held on Saturday, December 5, between 11am and 3pm.
For the second year in a row Watford Observer reporter Neil Skinner was asked to act as judge.
After awarding first place to the Woodhall School pupil, he said: “I was hugely impressed by Brittney-Anne’s inspiring design. Her use of colour is fantastic and her drawing skills very strong indeed.
“For someone so young her design really impressed me.”
Second place was awarded to Grace Bantin, also of Woodhall School, and third place was awarded to Christie Hyde, of Greenfields School.
