Parents, pupils and guests have been invited to ponder the “quest for antimatter” at a physics lecture at Rickmansworth School.
Renowned physicist Dr Glenn Patrick will discuss one the fundamental questions of mankind: Why do we exist?
The talk, to be held at the school, in Scots Hill, on Wednesday, December 9, will examine the Big Bang theory.
Physics teacher Nidaa Mir said: “This talk traces the fascinating story of antimatter from a speculative idea in the 19th century, through the various discoveries of the anti-world, leading up to the very latest results on mirror symmetries. It assumes no previous knowledge and will be at a level that everyone can enjoy.”
The lecture begins at 7pm. To attend please email nmir@rickmansworth.herts.sch.uk or telephone 01923 773296.
