Officers hoping to crack down on speeding drivers in Abbots Langley have been thwarted.
Following concerns raised at a meeting of the parish council last month, police officers had decided to use a speed gun to target drivers breaking the speed limit on the High Street.
However, vehicle obstructions and people crossing the road have prevented police from catching speeding motorists.
At a parish council meeting on Monday, a statement read aloud on behalf of Sergeant Neil Canning said: “Officers have been monitoring speed on the High Street, but have been hindered by vehicle obstruction and pedestrians crossing.
“This is an issue we will continue to look at.”
