Members of a Watford scout group will be travelling in style from now on thanks to the donation of a brand-new mini bus.
The bus, worth more than £15,000, was donated to the 72nd Watford Scouts on Thursday by the West Herts Charity Trust – a benevolent fund established by local businessmen.
Robin Wardley, chairman of the scout group’s parents’ and leaders’ association, explained: “We’ve wanted a minibus of our own for quite some time but never had the money to pay for one. Thanks to this amazing generosity we can now go on more trips and travel further afield.
“We normally raise about £3,000 in a year so without the help of the trust there was no way we could afforded the bus.”
The 72nd Watford Scouts are based in Whippendell Road. For more information please see www.the72.co.uk
