Star suffered their first defeat of the season against a well-organised Everett side at Pursley on Sunday. Everett took the lead when they hit Star on the break. Jamie Hazell got the equaliser for Star, as a result of a great piece of midfield play between Joe O'Brien and Dean Waller. But Star immediately conceded a penalty, which goalkeeper Sam Hazell saved brilliantly. Everett scored again to go back in front and then hit two quick goals to kill the game.
