In a tense local derby Suffolk started the brighter, and their pacey attacks caused problems for Borehamwood.
Suffolk took an early lead through Matt Hudson, and only a fine save from Jack Mullinger in the Borehamwood goal kept the deficit down to one-nil at half time.
Borehamwood started the second half in a determined mood. The equaliser came as Tom Cadmore powered home a Nuno Gourgel corner.
Mitchell Haylock scored Wood's second goal, with a delightful shot from 20 yards, then Greg Morgan scored a third from a similar distance. Martin Wells (2) and Danny Fitzgerald added further goals for Borehamwood.
