Alexandra started the game brightly and caught Borehamwood cold and were quickly two goals up.
After 20 minutes Alexandra scored a third goal. Borehamwood then woke up and started to get into the game.
Matthew Hill got his first goal of the game with a great solo run through the Alexandra defence to make it 3-1. But at the end of the first half Alexandra made it 4-1. In the second half Borehamwood came out guns blazing and Hill made it 4-2 with a good goal. Alexandrawent 5-2 up but Borehamwood never gave up and Hill got his third, and his first hat-trick, making the score 5-3.
In the dying seconds Eddie Dunk made a great save from an Alexandra forward. Acting manager Graham Waller said: "We got caught out in the first 20 minutes, but we played a lot better in the second half, and Matthew Hill's finishing was top draw."
