A NEW era at Kings Langley began with a goalless draw at home to New Bradwell St Peter on Saturday, August 17, as the Gaywood Park outfit prepare for a season of consolidation after a turbulent campaign last time out.
Only skipper Steve Whitby remains from the side which began the last campaign under Colin Jones, who was replaced in the summer by Dean Williams.
Whitby might be wondering why he didn't leave with his team-mates after Tuesday's home match against Pitsone & Ivinghoe. The visitors scored three in the first period and two more after the interval to run away with the points.
Elsewhere,Micky Vipond was spared defeat on his return as manager at Leverstock Green by a last-gasp equaliser from Jed Juster to rescue a point at home to Shillingdon.
Spirits quickly rose with Tuesday's 4-0 win over Cockfosters, who led the league going into the game, when Kevin Goldbold, Tony Oliver and Matthew Wardle (2) were all on target in the final quarter of an hour.
