A NATIONAL cancer charity gave thanks to members of Kings Langley Parish Council following the receipt of a cheque for about £2,000.
Funds were donated to Cancer Research, following Golden Jubilee celebrations held in June which culminated in a three date sellout concert.
Officials of the national charity were delighted to receive a cheque for £1,933.63 as calculated by event organiser Mrs Patricia Sleat, chairman of the parish council, Mr Steve Cox and parish councillors Sheila Satterwaite and Pauline Dolling, last week.
Funds were raised through a combination of ticket, raffle and programme sales at concerts, held from Friday, May 31, until Monday, June 2.
Chairman of the parish council, councillor Steve Cox who assisted with the sale of raffle tickets on all three nights, heralded the concerts a huge success.
He said: "The evenings were sell-outs and everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves."
