LONDON COLNEY CRICKET CLUB continued their blistering run of form at Kings Langley second XI making it six wins out of seven games for the men from Shenley to keep their chances of promotion from Division Five very much alive.

Although Glen Henderson surprised everyone when he chose to field on a hot and humid day after Kings won the toss, his decision looked vindicated as Colney struggled to reach 91-5 in the searing heat.

However, Colney's resistance with the bat has been one of the main reasons for their recent resurgence and Andy Stirrat joined Ady Fisher for a sixth wicket partnership of 83 before Fisher eventually fell for 81 with Stirrat unbeaten for 52 as the duo steered London Colney to a respectable total of 202-6.

Even though the London Colney batting line-up can take a lot of credit for the way the team have turned around their season, their is no doubt that fast bowler Andy Cole has emerged as the team's key man and he continued his sensational season to take figures of 7-27 as Langley were skittled out for 124.

After the first over yielded two wickets, Langley were always up against it and Matt Newland took wicket number three in the second over to confirm Colney's superiority.

From here, Cole assumed control, ripping the Langley line-up apart as London Colney moved up into fifth in the table with promotion now a distinct possibility.
