A Stanmore woman joined Big Brother star Bubble at the top of one of London's tallest buildings in a bid to set a record for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Julia Fenton, 27, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a form of cancer, three years ago and now devotes all her time to working for the charity.

For a year she was treated at the Macmillian suite of Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow, where the charity's nurses helped her to come to terms with her illness.

"They were absolutely amazing. They helped me to see that having cancer was not the end of the world," said Julia.

"They made me feel comfortable and helped me by just being there and supporting my family. I have been through a lot, but I can truly say that it was my time at the Macmillian suite that enables me to speak to you today."

On Wednesday last week Julia and Bubble tried to build the world's tallest tower of sugar in the Vertigo Bar at Tower 42 (formerly the NatWest Tower) in London.

Unfortunately, their construction fell 20cms short of the record 126cms. The bid launched this year's World's Biggest Coffee Morning, which aims to raise £3million.
