Enfield 0 Hendon 0
Ryman League Premier Division
by DAVID BALLHEIMER
Hendon opened the new Ryman League Premier Division season with a disappointing draw against Enfield at Boreham Wood on Saturday.
Enfield started very brightly, although Dale Binns had Enfield on the back foot with strong bursts. Steve Forbes and Kieran Gallagher also missed great chances.
Enfield's former Wingate and Finchley keeper Michael Kalli was in tremendous form in the second half, with amazing blocks from Gallagher and Binns.
And Hendon should have been awarded a penalty in injury time when Forbes was barged to the ground.
"I am a bit frustrated," admitted manager Dave Anderson. "We didn't play very well but I suppose if you don't concede a goal away from home, it's not too bad. I'll take a point away when we don't play well."
HENDON: Hook, Woolner, Duncan, Cooper, Butler, Yates, Gallagher (Bubb 76), Forbes, Randall (Haworth 87), Ofori (Crace 66), Binns.
Substitutes not used: Towler, Woodruffe.
