Doncaster 2 Barnet 1

Barnet fought gallantly and looked likely to gain a point before conceding an 85th-minute winner against a powerful Doncaster side at Belle Vue.

The winner came from a corner. A header by Doncaster's David Morley struck the underside of the bar and Bees' substitute Craig Pope tried in vain to clear.

Ben Strevens gave Barnet a 32nd-minute lead with a powerful low shot from 20 yards that keeper Andy Warrington could only push into the corner of the net.

Doncaster sent on substitute Justin Jackson at the start of the second half and he began to put the Bees under strong pressure.

Jackson sent a 25-yard shot against the bar in the 51st minute, and two minutes later forced a magnificent flying save from keeper Lee Harrison.

Jackson struck again in the 70th minute when he outpaced the defence on the right and hit over a perfect cross for Paul Barnes to fire the equaliser.

Harrison pulled off another terrific save from Gareth Owen, but just when it seemed that Barnet had weathered the storm for a hard-earned point, Doncaster snatched the decider.

For Barnet, Agogo always looked dangerous and went close to scoring in the first half and central defender Lee Pluck played a first-class role as deputy for injured captain Greg Heald.
