THE administrator of department store group Allders confirmed at the end of February the Watford branch will close.

Allders stores in Basingstoke, Camberley, Watford and Southampton are to shut after administrator Kroll was unable to find buyers.

The stores are among ten that received limited interest after Kroll invited bids for all or part of the chain, with the closures likely to generate more redundancies.

So far, 24 of the 45 stores have been sold, with Bhs acquiring ten, Debenhams eight and Primark six.
