STANSTED MP Sir Alan Haselhurst said he would be totally opposed to a second runway.

He said: "It would not only do a great deal of damage to the environment but it also doesn't provide a solution to London's airport capacity problem. We need an airport where people can 'interline' in that they can get off one aeroplane and straight onto another. We have to provide an airport where all routes are served."
