THERE has been a spate of break-ins to sheds and outbuildings in Sarratt in recent weeks.
In one incident, between 5pm on Friday, December 7, and 8.30am on Saturday, December 8, a petrol can was stolen from a locked barn in Church Lane.
In another incident, damage was done to an alarm system linked to sheds at a business premises in Red Lion Lane last month, although nothing was stolen.
PC Michael Powell, crime prevention officer for Watford and Three Rivers, said: "I would advise people to consider the value of what they are storing in sheds and outbuildings, and if appropriate store this equipment elsewhere.
"If this is not feasible, I would recommend the use of good quality chains and padlocks with which to secure equipment together.
"People can contact me for more specific advice on 01923 472030."
