WESTON FINANCIAL GROUP, one of the UK's 40 largest firms of Independent Financial Advisers, has launched a national redundancy helpline.

One of the consequences of the current economic downturn is that many people are facing an unsettling future following redundancy. A recent BMRB survey commissioned by Wesleyan Assurance Society shows nearly one in three people are worried by the financial future as the spectre of a recession looms.

Mr Gary Hexley, co-director of Weston, said: "Understandably, this is a worrying time for those who have been made redundant or are concerned about the possibility that they might be. However, with careful financial planning either before or after redundancy strikes means it need not be the frightening event that many fear."

Ringing the helpline will enable callers to receive a free fact sheet on dealing with redundancy and also have an Independent Financial Adviser contact them on a no obligation basis to discuss their circumstances, answer questions and arrange a free consultation if required.

Mr Hexley said: "Redundancy, or the worry of redundancy, affects so many areas of people's finances that it is really important they receive impartial advice on their whole financial situation."

Weston advisers are experienced in giving such advice having already been involved with redundant employees from both large and small employers.
