The Borehamwood & Elstree Times columnist Paul Welsh this week expressed his thanks to everyone who wished him well during his recent stay in hospital.
Paul was expected to return to his home in Borehamwood this week after undergoing an operation on a non-malignant brain tumour.
He said that the operation had gone well and he hoped to return to his job, as the town council's entertainments officer, after six weeks of rest.
"I want to thank all the people who have been kind enough to send me letters and cards I really appreciate their support," he said.
In particular, Paul would like to thank Susan Finlay, a work colleague at the town council, who has kept his friends informed of his progress.
Paul plans to start writing his weekly column for the newspaper again early in the New Year.
