I was interested to read a letter from a resident in Sherrards Way, who lives well away from the activity on match days (Plans look great', October 25).

We're all for making him even happier. Maybe this 'modern building to which Barnet could be proud of', could be moved to the upper field with its main entrance in Grosvenor Avenue.

Maybe that would be near enough for Mr Price to have some idea what it is really like living on top of a huge football stadium. The experience of the thousands of football supporters, noise and parking problems of which I am sure he is blissfully ignorant.

The cricket club could stay where it is and we could all sit here in Barnet Lane saying how wonderful it all is. Let them set up a hamburger stall and throw their litter into his garden. He obviously wouldn't mind.

Here we appreciate the beauty of what we see every day. The present stadium is tucked away neatly behind the houses. We have no objection to this. To build a huge concrete structure on a beautiful green area in a narrow lane is a monstrosity.
