Roy Essandoh's future with Barnet is in doubt. The former Wycombe Wanderers' striker's contract expires on Thursday, November 8, two days after Barnet meet Havant and Waterloooville in an FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay at Underhill, and may be extended only to cover the period while the Bees are still in the Cup.

The winners of the replay will be home to Third Division strugglers Carlisle United in the first round on Saturday, November 17.

Essandoh, who missed chances in the 1-0 home league defeat by Boston the previous week, was left out of the starting line-up in Saturday's Cup tie when Barnet drew 1-1 at Havant. Fit-again Ben Strevens, recovered from an ankle injury was preferred, and it was not until the last minute that substitute Essandoh took over from him.

Essandoh hit the headlines last season when he scored the goal that gave Wycombe a shock FA Cup win over Premiership Leicester City that put the Chairboys into the semi-final.

But his goals for the Second Division side were in short supply and and he had scored twice in six outings (including two as substitute) for Barnet before Saturday.

Barnet manager John Still said: "I signed Essandoh when we were without Wayne Purser and Ben Strevens, both injured. But he's not a natural goalscorer."
