FORMER and current advertising students of West Herts College gathered in London this week to celebrate 30 years of one of the colleges most popular courses.

Students and lecturers filled the main hall of the Institute for Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) in Belgrave Square on Thursday, October 25, to mark the anniversary of the college's Postgraduate Diploma in Advertising course.

First launched in 1971, the course, which currently provides training to advertising students in key areas including planning/management and creative strategy in the organisation of an advertising campaign, is accredited and supported by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and leading advertising agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi and Bartle Bogle Hegarty and D'Arcy.

Course Director, and the author of 'How to get into advertising', Mrs Andrea Neidle said: "At Watford we're really proud of our close links with the advertising industry. The vocational relevance of our courses means that our students hit the ground running.

"The fact that we are celebrating our 30th anniversary is surely proof of the continuing success and quality of the course."
