Burglars who tore through a woman's house while she hid in the bathroom are still on the loose.

Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to the crime, which happened in broad daylight on Wednesday July 7, in Benskin Road, Watford.

The occupant saw two men sitting on the wall at the front of the property for some time between 2.30 and 2.45pm, before they knocked on the front door.

After not getting an answer they went around to the rear of the property and forced the lock on the back door.

The occupant locked herself in the bathroom while the men searched the upstairs bedrooms, taking a laptop, five bottles of perfume, gold earring, bangles and an 18 carat gold chain.

They also took a Sony Cybershot camera.

The first man is white, in his early twenties, with a big nose and average build.

The second man is also white, aged between 25-35 with short hair. He is a heavier than average build and has a distinctive circular “swirly” tattoo on his right upper arm to his elbow.

Investigator Abigail Bianco, who is investigating the burglary, said: “We are keen to speak with anyone who may know who these men are or may have noticed anything suspicious at the time of the incident.”
