A new five-a-side football league for those aged over 35 is due to begin in Bushey this weekend.

Football Replay provides a round-robin format for teams each week with the aim of teams playing against those of a similar ability.

The unique format will be held on the Powerleague pitches, at Queen's School, in Aldenham Road, every Sunday, with matches starting at 6pm.

Nigel Hargreaves, of Football Replay, said: “The emphasis will be very much on style and skill rather than blood and guts.

“Although Masters football is firmly established in this country for former professional players, there’s nothing of this type on an organised basis for those who just want to enjoy themselves.”

As well as entering teams, individuals are encouraged to come along and an 'all-star' team will be made up in order that everyone gets a game.

The first matches kick-off on Sunday, October 10. Contact the Powerleague office on 01923 257 400 or email watford@powerleague.co.uk for more information.
