A Bovingdon-based golf club has raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Taking advantage of the sunshine, golfing enthusiasts teed off at Little Hay Golf Club on Sunday, for the annual Captain’s Day competition.
According to organisers the aim of the event was to raise cash for children and teenage drama group Shed@ThePark, based in Chesham.
The theatre company works with about 100 children and teenagers, including those often excluded from drama activities due to health and social development.
Little Hay Golf Club has opted to support the charity this year, after the cause was nominated by club captain Tony Alford.
About 90 members and guests played in the competition with the men driving from the extra long championship tees.
The game was followed by a charity dinner in the evening at the clubhouse in Box Lane, which helped contribute to the money raised.
Results of the competition were:
• 1st place and winner of the Captain’s Cup - Andrew Skelton (43 points)
• 2nd place - Steve Sibbit (40 points)
• 3rd place - Ben Hopkinson (39 points)
• First lady - Linda Cusick (41 points)
• First Junior - Tom Butler (39 points)
• First Senior Man - Tim Farrow (36 points)
