Hundreds of well-wishers turned out on Saturday to show their support to the family of a terminally ill woman.
Friends raised an estimated £5,000 when they held an action-packed family fun day at the Badger Pub, in The Gossamers, Garston.
The cash will be placed in a trust fund for the woman’s six-year-old son.
Louise Hall, who helped to organise the event with friend Helen Clarke, said: “We never imagined that it would raise so much money and want to say a massive thank you to everybody who came and took part. They were all fantastic."
Visitors young and old enjoyed a range of entertainments, including face painting, a raffle and tombola. Prizes include a signed Watford FC shirt and ball, and a ticket to see N-Dubz, donated by Watford-based band member Tulisa Contostavlos.
