A jigsaw festival held in Abbots Langley has raised more than a thousand pounds for the village’s community centre.
Crowds of people flocked to Jigfest at Abbots Langley Community Centre in Manor House Grounds to peruse and buy hundreds of jigsaws put together for the event.
Pat Hibberd, who helped organise the festival on Saturday, March 24, said: "We managed to raise just over £1,600, after expenses, and the money will be used to maintain Abbots Langley Community Centre.
"The centre is very well used by a lot of local groups so does take a bit of a battering. The cash will be spent on painting and maintenance.
"This was our fourth Jigfest and although it was held on one day rather than two, it proved very popular. In fact, I would say it was our best Jigfest yet, we had people come to the event from far and wide.
"Not only did we raise a lot of money, but there was so much community spirit, it was wonderful. After all the hard work that goes into the festival, the community camaraderie is the most rewarding thing of all."
