A quiz night is to be held in Bushey to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity which support children and teenagers with cancer.

Hosted by the CHARM Committee, which was started more than 25 years ago by a group of ten friends from north west London who had lost loved ones to cancer, the event will be held on September 27.

Since the group started in 2010 they have raised £11,500 for children and teenagers with cancer, and their families.

The quiz costs £14 per person and will be held at the Metropolitan Police Bushey Sports Club, Aldenham Road, Bushey from 8pm. Refreshments will be available.

Elizabeth Charing, CLIC Sargent representative, said: "With the continued support of fundraising groups like The CHARM Committee, we are able to help reduce the impact of cancer for more children and young people across the UK.

"The CHARM Committee have already raised a fantastic amount for CLIC Sargent and this is the second year they have held a quiz night fundraiser at the Metropolitan Police Bushey Sports Club. I’m sure this event will be another success for them. "

It costs about £3,750 to support each child or young person through their three year treatment and a lack of funds means that CLIC Sargent can only help two out of three children and teenagers with the disease.
