Firefighters have been called to a church hall in Radlett after a blaze started in the kitchen.
One engine from the St Albans station and a pump from Borehamwood rushed to the United Free Church in Station Road at 11.44am.
The fire had been extinguished by the time crews arrived at the scene.
They ventilated the building before leaving just before 12.30.
