MP Richard Harrington visited Chater Junior School in Watford yesterday (Wednesday), in a bid to support the Send My Friend to School campaign.

The movement is helping to highlight the fact that more than 67 million children around the world are still missing out on an education.

Chater Junior School, in Addiscombe Road, is joining thousands of schools across the UK, and in more than 100 countries worldwide, to show their commitment to education for all.

To support Send My Friend to School, Chater Junior School has held an assembly and workshops on the topic, learning about children in Nigeria and Tanzania who struggle to receive an education.

Each pupil made a Go for Gold! medal - 180 in total.

The whole school added their thoughts by covering them in messages, and presented them to Watford’s Conservative MP Richard Harrington to pass on their ideas to world leaders.

During his visit Mr Harrington told pupils what the UK government is doing to help more children get to school.
