An Audi dumped in Watford is believed to have been driven by burglars who broke into the homes of several elderly people in Milton Keynes yesterday.
Police were called to a burglary taking place at at 2.44pm in the Bletchley area and attempted to apprehend two men, but were injured in the process.
The men then drove off in a grey Audi A3, which was driven at high speed from the Bletchley area, towards Bicester, before heading back through Buckingham and Aylesbury.
The men were chased by police cars and the force helicopter, and the car was dumped on the Berrygrove roundabout near the M1 motorway in Watford. Nobody has been arrested.
Detectives are linking the incident to three other burglaries in Bletchley yesterday. Both men are described as white, one is in his early twenties and the other is in his early thirties.
Detective Inspector Suzette Allcorn said: “All four burglaries occurred at homes of elderly residents, although thankfully none of them were at home at the time.
“Various items were stolen, including jewellery and cash.”
Anyone with any information can telephone DI Allcorn on 101, or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
