Celebrities and fashion icons will be gearing up as they prepare for the biggest night in the fashion industry.
With Vogue's Met Gala making its return to its traditional date of the first Monday in May after the event last year was delayed to September.
The night promises to present spectacular outfits, iconic pop culture moments and no doubt some fashion failures too.
But if you're not aware of what the Met Gala is, then do not worry as we have all the information you could possibly need, from the theme to how to watch.
What is the Met Gala?
The Met Gala is also known as the Costume Institue Benefit or the Met Ball and is simply a luxurious charity event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
It first started back in 1948 as a simple dinner founded by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert.
But it later became the gala by former US Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and is now in the hands of the current editor Anna Wintour who has led the magazine since 1995.
The fundraiser marks the opening of the Costume Institute's exhibitions that open to the public after the gala.
Every year the event raises millions by selling tickets that cost nearly £35,000 or an entire table for between £200,000 to £300,000.
When is the Met Gala?
The Gala takes place every year on the first Monday of Monday, with this year being May 2.
Due to the pandemic, in recent years it was canceled or changed to a later month like in 2021 when it took place in September.
What is the theme for the Met Gala 2022?
This year's theme will be a second part to last year's and will mark the opening of part two of the same exhibition.
Both exhibitions celebrated American fashion, the first was titled ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ which celebrate the Costumes Institute's 75th birthday and saw guests pay tribute to Hollywood stars of the past.
Part two of the theme, which is this year, is ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’ which opens to the public at the Met on May 5.
As part of the theme, the dress code of the gala is Gilden Glamour, the era between 1870 and 1900.
This part of American history was known as the Gilded Age and saw immense economic growth but also some seriously controversial choices too.
What will guests be wearing to the Met Gala?
With the dress code of Gilded, there's no doubt that Gild will be a key part of the red carpet, as well as plenty of striking gold moments too.
The biggest designers will be there showing their inspirations including Balmain, Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, and of course Versace who are well known for iconic gold.
Who are the hosts at the Met Gala 2022?
Every year a select group of celebrities is chosen by Anna Wintour to co-chair the festivities.
Past years have seen the likes of Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna all take on hosting duties.
This year is a mixed bunch with award-winning actress Regina King, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, and power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
Will Zendaya be at the Met Gala?
If there's one celebrity that never fails to impress with their brilliantly chosen outfits, it's Euphoria actress Zendaya.
In past years she's worn iconic outfits including a gorgeous jungle Gucci ballgown and a power dress inspired by Joan of Arc.
Many fans all eagerly waiting to see what the star will wear and share their opinions.
But unfortunately, the Spider-Man star will be skipping the Met Gala this year as she told Extra in an interview.
Saying: "I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working. Your girl's gotta work and make some movies...I wish everyone the best."
But there's always next year.
