A queue to see the Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall has garnered much attention over the past couple of days, due to it stretching nearly five miles across London.
Due to thousands of people attempting to see the Queen's coffin officials stopped people joining the queue entirely at around 11.35am today (Friday, September 16) at the entrance to Southwark Park.
Mourners have been urged not to join the line until at least 4pm on Friday by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
Before noon, officials had placed a sign at the entrance to Southwark Park reading: “Entry to Her Majesty’s lying in state queue is temporarily paused.

“Lying in state queue wait time from this point minimum 14 hours.”
Due to this stoppage, it has actually resulted in a fairly large queue forming to join the first queue to get into Westminster Hall.
