It has not been a great week for the Hornets faithful as stuttering form has seen hopes of an automatic promotion slot slip further from reach.
Yet Watford FC fan and Radio 1 DJ Chris Stark has attempted to give the Hornets a small morale boost by recruiting another Hollywood star to the Golden Boys’ cause.
Yesterday the 25-year-old gave Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr a Watford replica shirt and invited him to a game at Vicarage Road during an interview.
The gesture comes weeks after Stark attempted to recruit actress Mila Kunis to the Yellow army with a similar offer.
In the interview, which aired this morning, Stark told Downey Jnr he had "kicked" himself for not having a Watford football shirt on him when he interviewed Mila Kunis before.
He said: "Weirdly we share the same last name so I was wondering if you would take this on behalf of me and my football club and if you ever want to come to a Watford game you are more than welcome."
Downey Jr replied: "Assigning me the number one means the world to me."
Although the 48-year-old superstar looked taken with the offer of joining the Hornets’ faithful he appeared to be grappling with the basics, ending the interview by asking: "Dude, where’s Watford?"
