Bushey boxer Miles Shinkwin has had to wait but the date and opponent for his Southern Area title shot has finally been confirmed.
Shinkwin was made the mandatory challenger for the light-heavyweight version of the belt in February but had been left hugely frustrated as he struggled to find an opponent.
The former holder, Leon Senior, vacated and Shinkwin says his promoter offered the fight to three other boxers with no joy.
They finally found an opponent in Joel McIntyre and were set to fight in May before the Portsmouth fighter injured his hand.
But it has now been confirmed that the two will face each other at York Hall in Bethnal Green on July 12.
Shinkwin, who has won all seven of his professional bouts, will also be fighting on May 17 for the vacant British Masters title, again at York Hall.
The opponent will be the durable Danny Couzens (5-9-2) and tickets can be bought by calling 07773352710.
