Out-of-contract Tommy Mooney joined Birmingham City from Watford.
A versatile player whose contribution was more about 'how' than 'where', from the point at which his run of goals propelled Watford in the play-offs in 1999, he was very much seen as a striker.
Having missed much of the subsequent campaign through injury, his final season in Hertfordshire saw him become the first Watford player for eight years to score 20 goals in a season, many of them ferociously bullied in at the far post.
