Watford’s Under-18s produced a ruthless display to defeat Dagenham & Redbridge Under-18s 8-0 on Tuesday in the Youth Alliance South East Division
Young forward Michael Folivi was the stand-out performer and he netted a first half hat-trick against the Daggers.
Folivi’s first goal arrived after 70 seconds. Dennon Lewis was fouled in the penalty area and Folivi dispatched the resultant spot kick.
The Hornets doubled their lead four minutes later through Max Makaka and a third goal was soon added from Mahlondo Martin.
Dagenham’s Lee Hursit struck the crossbar midway through the half but Folivi scored twice in six minutes to complete his hat-trick and make it 5-0 at the break.
The Daggers improved after the break and the visiting side worked harder to close down Watford.
However, in the 77th minute, Tom Rosenthal’s pass allowed Martin to fire home his second of the contest and Lewis then added the Golden Boys’ seventh.
In the final moments of the game Folivi moved past the Daggers defence and had a low shot saved. The rebound fell to Makaka who finished from close range to complete the rout.
Watford: Rowley; Martin, Young (Catherline 64), Rowan (Stevens 52), Kyprianou; Stewart, Rosenthal; Makaka, Folivi, Pereira (Choi 59); Lewis.
