There were four wins and a draw for Watford Ladies youth section on the opening day of the new season.
Zoe Bird and Roxanna Buckley netted for the Under-15 Harts as they began their season with a 2-0 win over Bishop’s Stortford.
The Under-15 Hornets were comprehensive winners, beating Hitchin Belles 7-0 thanks to strikes from Holly Holt (2), Olivia Syson (2), Ciara John, Holly Newell and Danielle Maloney.
There were eight goals shared equally between the Under-15 Wasps and St. Albans City Youth North. Sophia Citro netted a hat trick and Samantha Cottam added the fourth.
Debutant Amy Doherty hit a treble as the Under-13 Harts thumped Hemel Hempstead 6-1. Roma Agnihotri (2) and Amy Ryan (2) also got in on the act.
The Under-13 Hornets started with a 1-0 win over rivals Garston Ladies; Charli Connor scoring the decisive goal.
Trailing 3-0 with 15 minutes left, the Under-17s lost 7-3 to St Joseph Youth, who ran in four late goals to compound Watford’s woe.
