Kings Langley Ladies’ first match on an artificial surface ended in a disappointing 5-0 reverse against AFC Kempston on Sunday.
Struggling to get to grips with the turf, Kings surrendered two goals in the first 20 minutes and despite their best efforts, found themselves 3-0 behind after half-an-hour.
Fay McMullan went close either side of half time and Mary Hogan shot wide, but Kings could not make the breakthrough and were further punished by two late efforts from Kempston.
